Divers Ecological Society was
established as a 501( c)(3) organization in 2004 to organize the
restorative activities of local environmentally concerned divers,
boaters, land based marine associates and local citizens.
-
Divers
Ecological Society involves citizens in the active stewardship
of South Puget Sound near shore marine habitats.
-
We organize beach cleanup activities,
perform underwater survey and mapping of critical marine habitat
and grass beds.
The data summaries are found here on this website for the use of
the county, city and environmental organizations
-
We provide free training seminars throughout the year on flora
and fauna within Puget Sound and encourage attendees to participate in reducing non point
pollution impacts on the nearshore habitat.
-
Divers Ecological also schedules
opportunities for the citizenry to become involved in various
cleanups around the South Sound.
-
Lastly, we monitor the results of our baseline surveys over time
to report on the current health of the habitats within the South
Sound
